MAXXIS ASPEN ST 29X2.40 EXO TR MAXXSPEED

Riders have always asked, begged, and perhaps even pleaded for it, and Maxxis has finally responded. For the first time commercially available, a limited production of the Aspen ST, a 170 TPI version of the renowned traditional Aspen tire. Until now, these tires were reserved only for the best Maxxis-equipped professional teams.
The Aspen ST is an ultra-low profile competition tire, designed primarily for Short Track XC use, although some athletes also opt for the 29×2.25 size on their gravel bikes. Sometimes referred to as "Fastpen", this tire will certainly give any rider an advantage in dry and grassy conditions. It is not recommended for more technical trails or mixed weather conditions due to the reduced tread profile. Team-spec Aspen tires use the same tread pattern as the standard model, but are lighter thanks to the 170 TPI, faster, and more elastic.
All team-specific tires feature EXO protection on the sidewall and a tubeless-ready casing. However, it is important to emphasize that these tires are primarily intended for racing in suitable environments and conditions. The compromise for weight savings and low rolling resistance of the 170 TPI casing results in a shorter tire lifespan compared to our standard 120 TPI. We recommend keeping this in mind when advising riders on which product best suits their needs. The new Aspen and Aspen ST tires will feature a special "Team Spec" patch on the sidewall to differentiate them from the standard versions available on the market today.
