The new DEORE XT features either a two-piston brake for cross-country use or a four-piston brake for trail/enduro use. The new brake lever design, which is mounted at an angle to provide two points of contact on the handlebars, significantly increasing rigidity, provides more direct feedback and braking performance that is further improved by SERVO WAVE technology. The braking systems are therefore characterized by a faster response, higher performance and a shorter idle stroke.
